SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University women's tennis team dropped a narrow 4-3 decision to Huntington University on Saturday at the Jones Tennis Complex.
The Cougars move to 7-12 overall and 2-5 in Crossroads League play.
Huntington claimed the doubles point by winning two of the three matches.
Isabel Abraham and
Lilah Dean picked up the lone win for SAU at No. 2 doubles, earning a hard-fought 7-6 victory.
Spring Arbor responded with a strong showing in singles play, winning three matches.
Moorea McNalley secured a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles, while
Victoria Herrington followed with a 6-4, 7-6 victory at No. 2.
Dayra Novella battled back after dropping the first set to earn a 2-6, 7-5, 6-1 win at No. 3.
Huntington, however, claimed the remaining three singles matches to seal the 4-3 win.
