BRIGHTON, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University women's golf team opened its spring season with a fifth-place finish at the Cleary University Spring Invitational.
The Cougars posted a team score of 373, finishing fifth out of nine teams in the event. Aquinas College captured the team title with a 359, followed by Lourdes University (363) and host Cleary (365).
Elle Bolkema led the way for Spring Arbor with an outstanding performance, finishing runner-up in a field of more than 40 golfers with a score of 80. Bolkema earned All-Tournament Team honors for her performance, joining Luke Fisher from the SAU men's team.
Emalynn Benham also turned in a strong showing, placing eighth overall with a round of 88 to secure a top-10 finish.
