SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University baseball team saw its season come to a close on Saturday, falling 4-2 to Indiana Wesleyan University in the Crossroads League Tournament at Hank Burbridge Field.
Spring Arbor found itself trailing 4-0 after six innings, but continued to battle late into the game.
The Cougars got on the board in the seventh inning when
Ethan Orlowski delivered a pinch-hit RBI single to bring home
Brenden Phillips and cut into the deficit.
SAU threatened again in the eighth.
Aiden Brunin opened the inning with a triple down the right field line before
Joey Tessmer followed with an RBI single to make it 4-2. Three batters later, the Cougars loaded the bases with only one out, but Indiana Wesleyan escaped the jam with consecutive strikeouts to preserve the lead.
Brunin led the offense, going 2-for-5 with a run scored, while
Evan Miller also recorded two hits.
Spring Arbor received strong work out of the bullpen from
Colin Snyder and
Josh Murphy, who combined for 4.2 scoreless innings while allowing just two hits over the final four frames.
The Cougars finish the 2026 campaign with a 25-25 overall record.
