Joe Myers

Joe Myers is in his fourth season on staff at SAU. The former Cougar returned to Spring Arbor following a four-year stint as the head coach at the University of Dallas after having excelled as the school’s pitching coach for the four years prior. During his time at Dallas, Myers started a booster club which enabled the school to make major facilities improvements and also oversaw the development of multiple players to the signing of professional contracts. Prior to his time at U of D, Myers served in the same capacity for one season at his alma mater, Spring Arbor University.
From 2003-2008 Myers played for the Cougars, and had the unique privilege of playing for both Coach Hank Burbridge and Coach Sam Riiggleman. During his time at SAU, he was named to the all-conference and all-region teams and was the closer of record for two games during Spring Arbor's 2008 World Series run as well as being a member of the national runner-up 2007 team that won 36 consecutive games.
"Joe brings tremendous knowledge and a great baseball mind that comes with 9 years of experience at the collegiate level. We are very blessed to have a person of his caliber join our program," said SAU head coach Ryan Marken. "This off season we felt it was extremely important to add some veteran guys with a great feel for player development to our staff. Joe is a high energy guy who players love to be around and who is a tireless recruiter. To have him and Coach O’Connell working together with our pitchers gives us an advantage most teams don’t have. We’re glad he’s home."
Myers, a native of Chelsea, MI, earned a bachelor's degree in Business Marketing/Management from Spring Arbor University.
