Matthew Brown

Former SAU men’s soccer player Matthew Brown has joined the Spring Arbor University men's soccer staff as an assistant coach. Brown joins the Cougars after a two-year stint as an assistant coach with the men’s soccer program at fellow Crossroads League member, the University of Saint Francis (Ind.).

Brown played four seasons at Spring Arbor University. He scored two goals for the program throughout his collegiate career and notched one assist. During his time at Saint Francis, the program doubled its win output, as well as made the conference tournament for the first time since the 2014 season. In his two-year spell, the team also produced a first team all-conference player for the first time since 2014.

In addition to his duties at SAU, Brown is currently the head coach of the Jackson Rush’ 07/06 & 05 Boys team. He has also spent time coaching with Fort Wayne Sport Club as the head coach of the 03 Ingolstadt Boys team.

Brown earned his United States Soccer Federation (USSF) F Coaching License.

Brown is a Toronto, Canada native. He currently resides in Spring Arbor with his wife Faith and their daughter Myla.
