John Williams

    Assistant Coach

John Williams begins his first season as an assistant coach with the Cougars. Williams will specifically work with the guards. His other duties include strength training, recruiting, scouting, and day-to-day operations. 

Coach Williams comes to Spring Arbor University after spending five years coaching high school basketball. He spent two seasons as a JV boy’s head coach & assistant Varsity coach (’12-’14) at Addison High School. He spent the past three seasons (’14-’17) as the Varsity girl’s head coach at Addison High School. Coach Williams has coached AAU and travel basketball teams (12U-16U) from (’09-’17) for boys and girls in Jackson, Lenawee, and Hillsdale counties. He has had former players continue their basketball careers at Adrian College, Siena Heights University, Concordia University, and Central Michigan University. 

Coach Williams earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Spring Arbor University. He received his post-graduate certificate in K-12 Administration from Eastern Michigan University. He is currently completing a doctorate program from Trevecca Nazarene University. Coach Williams works as an Assistant Professor in the School of Education at SAU. Coach Williams and his wife, Carrie, reside in Spring Arbor.
