In addition to serving as the assistant coach for the cross country teams, Mills was named the head men's and women's track & field coach in the spring of 2022 after serving as the interim head coach for a year.
Mills, who competed for the Cougars from 2010-14, has 12 years of cross country and 10 years of track & field competition experience. His 4x800 relay team also captured the NCCAA national championship title in 2012. Mills then went on to gain more experience with three years of high school cross country and two years of track coaching at Mount Pleasant High School.
"I am ecstatic to be bringing Kameron into our program," said Burk. "He knows the culture and brings a lot of passion to the sport which will help guide and motivate our athletes to reach their potential. He loves the Lord and is excited to invest into these young athletes' lives as a positive mentor. He is not only a good friend, but someone I have the upmost respect for and I look forward to having him help push this program to new levels."
