First year Head Coach, Nathan Miller has big plans for the Spring Arbor University men’s soccer program and he has the vision, experience, and the energy to see those plans through.
Miller is no stranger to the Crossroads League and to the teams that make up one of more competitive conferences in the Country. He was the assistant men’s soccer coach at Taylor University for three years and helped turn around a struggling Trojan program that was 14-23-1 in the two years prior to his arrival. Under Miller, the Trojans enjoyed a 40-19-2 mark, including Taylor’s 2011 campaign where the team went 19-2-1 and achieved an NAIA ranking of 17th in the Nation.
Able to spot and develop younger talent, Miller played a crucial role in bringing in top level players and developing them into elite players in the league. Miller also coached club soccer at Westfield soccer club in the Indianapolis area for 3 seasons.
As a player, Miller was a starting midfielder from 2004-2008 at Taylor University. He was a two-time MCC All-Conference selection in 2005 and 2006 and an All-Region Team selection in 2007.
Miller possesses the NSCAA National, Advanced National, and Premier Coaching Diploma's and is pursuing USSF Licensing. His knowledge of the game is a solid foundation to the job, and his desire to lead young men toward a common goal as it fits into the Spring Arbor community bodes well for Miller.
Outside of his coaching experience, Miller worked for the Crossroads League as the Assistant Commissioner for over a year before taking the reins at Spring Arbor. Prior to coaching he worked as a Financial Planner for Balasa Dinverno & Foltz Private Wealth Management firm in Itasca, IL.
