Senior Kara Buehrer had 14 points against Goshen.
Last night, the Spring Arbor women's basketball team conquered the Goshen Maple Leafs on home court. The Cougars came out strong and kept their lead throughout the game, finishing the contest with an impressive score line of 69-52.

SAU took charge and established a strong rhythm in the first half. They played well together as a team, building solid lead of 35-24 at half time. During the second half, the Lady Cougars were able to focus and secure the win.

There was a good mix of key players scoring for SAU during the game. Senior Jen Moor stood out, sinking seven shots and two 3-pointers as well as tracking down five rebounds.

Sophomore Melissa Tejkl hit four shots, snatched six rebounds and also had a steal, while senior Lindsey Norman came out to win and draining three field goals and one 3-pointer, good for nine points to go along with contributing six assists and six steals. Fifth year senior Kara Buehrer nailed five shots, four which were from behind the three-point line. She also distributed well, handing out five assists.

"I was very pleased with our performance in tonight's game. Goshen opened the game in a zone, challenging us to shoot from the perimeter. We rose to the challenge, hitting 6 three-point shots in the first half. Goshen made a couple of runs at us in the 2nd half, cutting the lead to 7 points, but each time we responded, executed on offense and scored, nullifying their run. Melissa Tejkl & Kristen Miller combined for an excellent post play performance. Kara Buehrer played well, and Kristin Kotarba is playing with much more confidence now & her passing abilities are tremendous," said head coach Tare Kreklau.

The Lady Cougars look forward to taking on Marian this Saturday at 1 p.m. on home court.
