SPRING ARBOR, MI – For the second time in a week, the Cougar Volleyball team faced the top team in the Crossroads League and the tonight's match had similar results as last week's match, a straight set loss to the top team. Tonight, Spring Arbor fell to Bethel College 25-16, 25-13, 25-20.
Despite the score, Spring Arbor played a tough match against the favored Pilots.
"The team played gutsy defense, keeping balls in play that could have been quick points for Bethel," said Coach, Carol Gates. "Our blocking, led by middle Alyssa Frees and Kacy Hersha created a challenge for the Bethel hitters, forcing them into off speed shots. We need to capitalize on dug ball opportunities. We're looking forward to the weekend games against St. Francis and Goshen."
Friday night, at 7:00 p.m., Spring Arbor will play St. Francis in Fort Wayne, IN, and return home for the final home game of the season against Goshen College at 2:00 on Saturday afternoon.
