Volleyball drops a pair of matches at Aquinas / Cornerstone Fall Inv.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – It has been a tough finish to the season for Spring Arbor University's volleyball team and it didn't get any easier this weekend at the Aquinas College / Cornerstone University Fall Invitational.  The lady Cougars dropped a pair of matches, the first to Rochester College in a close five set match, and the last to Aquinas College in straight sets.

Spring Arbor came close against Rochester College after losing the first set 19-25, the Cougars stormed back and picked up the second and third sets 25-16 and 25-15.  Rochester won the fourth set 16-25 to send the match into a fifth and deciding set and after a back and forth struggle, Rochester got the advantage at the end in won the set 16-14.

Aquinas College was a larger challenge for the Cougars winning the match 25-19, 25-21, 25-15.

Match stats were unavailable and will be posted to the schedule when they are delivered.

The weekend tournament left the Cougars with a record of 5-26 for the season with two matches remaining against Davenport University and Aquinas College.   Both matches will take place on Saturday, November 2 in Grand Rapids, MI.  The match with Davenport will start at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Aquinas match at 12:30p.m.
