Cougars fall to Forsters in three sets

HUNTINGTON, IN – The Volleyball team struggled to keep the momentum from almost coming from behind in the first set to fall in straight sets against Huntington University 19-25, 23-25, 11-25.

The Lady Cougars came out strong in the second with each team matching the other point for point before the Foresters took control at the end to take the set 25-23.  After a 10 minute break between the second and third sets, the Cougars cooled too much and Huntington ran away with the set 25-11.

In the midst of a slump, it's difficult to keep battling and fighting for each point, but Head Coach Carol Gates is proud of her girls and the effort they continue to put out every match.

"I'm proud of their effort and courage today," said Gates.  "We got behind in the third set early and couldn't recover, but the girls never gave up."

The Cougars resume their Crossroads League schedule on Wednesday, October 9 at 7:00 at home against Indiana Wesleyan.
