SPRING ARBOR, MI – Another late comeback effort fell short for the Spring Arbor University men's basketball team as the Cougars dropped their third straight contest, the latest to the Cornerstone University Golden Eagles 79-73 on Saturday afternoon.
Spring Arbor trailed Cornerstone by as many as 18 points (37-55) with less than nine minutes left in the contest and once again the Cougars clawed their way back and got it to within two points (73-75) with 15 seconds left in the game but the Golden Eagles connected on all four of the free throws they took, and SAU couldn't answer the rest of the way as time ran out on Spring Arbor's comeback.
Spring Arbor trailed Concordia by more than 20 and came back to tie the game but lost by three points, and trailed Aquinas by nine points with two minutes remaining and cut that lead to three points with five seconds left in that contest.
