SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University volleyball team fell to Crossroads League foe Huntington University in straight sets (13-25, 20-25, 18-25) on Saturday.
The loss drops the Cougars to 1-12 overall and 0-4 in the conference while the Foresters improved to 1-3 with a 1-3 mark in league play.
Sophomore Rebekah Kujat paced the attack with eight kills while freshmen Courtney Kyser and Olivia Landis added seven apiece. Laura Hardy and Gabrielle Hilliard recorded 31 assists collectively, with Hardy handing out 17 and Hilliard ending the afternoon with 14.
Senior Lyndsay Murray continued her solid play defensively, registering double-digit digs for the eighth consecutive match. Murray posted a match-high 16 while Hardy contributed nine, narrowly missing a double-double.
Up next, the Cougars will travel to Indianapolis, Ind. for a conference match against Marian University on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m.
