INDIANAPOLIS – The Spring Arbor University volleyball team fell to Marian University in straight sets (25-21, 25-13, 25-15) on Wednesday night inside the MU Physical Education Center.
Freshman Annica Stotz posted a team-high 12 assists with 13 digs to record her fourth double-double of the season while adding a pair of aces. Senior Kayleigh Bytwerk led the defensive effort with 14 digs while sophomore Courtney Kyser registered three blocks.
"We are continuing to learn a lot about ourselves," said head coach Betsy Martinez. "We are working on doing a better job of controlling the things we can control. Looking forward to this weekend and improving on some of the things we saw tonight."
Spring Arbor (5-20, 1-14 CL) will travel to Grand Rapids, Michigan for the Cornerstone University/Aquinas College Crossover Tournament. The Cougars will open tournament play against Cornerstone on Friday, Oct. 23 at 5 p.m. before facing the University of Northwestern Ohio at 8 p.m.
