Women's Tennis falls to Taylor in CL Quarterfinal

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University women's tennis team saw its fall season come to an end after suffering a hard-fought 6-3 loss to Taylor University in the Crossroads League Tournament Quarterfinals on Tuesday afternoon.

Spring Arbor and Taylor both finished the conference season with identical 4-4 records. However, the Cougars defeated the Trojans head-to-head to land the No. 4 seed in the tournament and earn home court advantage for the first round matchup against No. 5 seed TU.

Senior Quincy Banini and sophomore Monika Wynne posted an 8-3 victory at No. 1 doubles to start the afternoon while Taylor claimed the point at No. 3 doubles. At No. 2 doubles, it was the Trojans who came away with a narrow 9-7 win over Mary-Kate McShane and Emily Joseph to grab the early advantage.

Singles play would prove to be just as exciting seeing three matches go to a decisive third-set. Unfortunately, the Cougars would end up on the short end of two of those allowing TU to clinch the match win and end SAU's run in the tournament.

Spring Arbor finished the fall season with a record of 5-5.
