DEARBORN, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University volleyball team completed play at the University of Michigan-Dearborn Early Bird Tournament with a 3-1 (25-19, 22-25, 25-12, 25-23) win over Lawrence Tech on Saturday.
Freshmen setters Annica Stotz and Kasey Follis combined for 29 assists and six aces to lead the Cougars. Junior Rebekah Kujat and sophomore Leah Rose finished with 13 kills apiece while Follis and sophomore Courtney Kyser added six each.
Junior libero Taylor Johnston picked up a team-high 11 digs while Follis tallied 10 for her first career double-double.
Prior to the match against Lawrence Tech, the Cougars fell to Judson University in three sets (19-25, 17-25, 21-25).
Kujat paced the attack with 13 kills and Rose followed with seven. Stotz handed out 11 assists and sophomore Olivia Landis recorded three aces.
Up next, Spring Arbor (3-5) will open Crossroads League play when it visits the defending conference champions, and No. 17-ranked Indiana Wesleyan University on Wednesday, Sept. 2 at 7 p.m.
