Women's Tennis snaps skid with sweep of Goshen

GOSHEN, Ind. – After dropping its last two matches, the Spring Arbor University women's tennis team bounced back with a commanding 9-0 victory at Goshen College on Saturday.

Spring Arbor bumped its record to 3-2 overall and in the Crossroads League while Goshen dipped to 0-7 with a 0-6 mark in league play.

The Cougars started strong in doubles, surrendering just two points to the Maple Leafs in the three matches. Mary-Kate McShane and Emily Joseph at No. 2 doubles and Alyssa Bart and Jewell Allen at No. 3 doubles won by identical 8-0 scores, while Quincy Banini and Monika Wynne prevailed 8-2.

Spring Arbor continued its dominance in singles play winning all six matches in straight sets. Freshmen Morgan Keeler and Brianna VanRavenswaay earned their first collegiate victories. Keeler won 7-5, 6-0 at No. 5 singles, and VanRavenswaay triumphed 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.

Up next, the Cougars will travel to Marion, Indiana for a matchup with the defending conference champions Indiana Wesleyan University on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 3 p.m.
