SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University women's basketball team struggled early against Taylor University, scoring just 21 first half points in a 74-61 loss on Wednesday night.
The setback dropped the Cougars to 13-12 overall and 5-8 in the Crossroads League, moving them into a sixth-place tie with the Trojans (14-11, 5-8 CL) in the conference standings.
Spring Arbor shot just 27 percent from the field through the first two quarters, making 8-of-29 attempts, while Taylor shot a blistering 59 percent, including five three-pointers, to build what would prove to be an insurmountable lead.
