HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The Spring Arbor University women's tennis team remained unbeaten in South Carolina with a 9-0 victory over Bridgewater College on Thursday.
Spring Arbor was given two points before the first serve as Bridgewater (1-4) was forced to default one doubles and one singles match due to playing with just five players.
In doubles competition, the team of Quincy Banini and Monika Wynne, playing at the No. 1 spot, rolled to an 8-3 win while Mary-Kate McShane and Emily Joseph, playing at No. 2, held on to defeat their opponents 8-6.
In singles play, Banini, Wynne, Joseph and Morgan Keeler won in straight sets. McShane held a 6-1, 3-0 lead over her opponent before winning by default.
The Cougars (9-5) will conclude their spring trip with a match against Clarion College (2-2) on Friday, Mar. 11 beginning at 1 p.m.
