Women's Tennis ends season with win over Calvin

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University women's tennis team concluded its season on a high note with a 5-4 win over Calvin College on Wednesday at the Cougar Tennis Courts.

Spring Arbor began the afternoon by winning two doubles matches. Mary-Kate McShane and Emily Joseph came away with an 8-4 victory at No. 2 while Quincy Banini and Monika Wynne edged out their opponents 9-7 in a thrilling back-and-forth match.

In singles competition, Banini closed out her spectacular career with a straight set 6-2, 6-2 win at the No. 1 position. Brianna VanRavenswaay also prevailed in straight sets, winning 6-2, 7-5. Calvin (10-6) fought back picking up points at the No. 4 and No. 5 spots, but McShane clinched the overall victory for the Cougars with her 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 win at No. 2.

Following the match, Spring Arbor honored seniors Quincy Banini and Cindy Yang for all their hard work and dedication to the program.

The Cougars triumphed in each of their final three matches to close out the 2015-16 campaign with an impressive 14-7 record.
