HUNTINGTON, Ind. – The No. 2 ranked Spring Arbor University women's soccer team used two first half goals by senior Renee Broekhuizen and junior Bethany Balcer to pick up a 2-0 road win over Huntington University on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Spring Arbor tested Huntington early earning three corner kicks and firing four shots in the first 12 minutes of the match.
- A goal from Renee Broekhuizen in the 18th minute put the Cougars on top.
- Just before halftime, Bethany Balcer boosted the SAU lead to 2-0 with an assist from Sarah Klunder.
- Spring Arbor held Huntington to just four shots on the afternoon. The Cougars recorded 20 total shots including 13 on frame. SAU also won the corner kick battle 11-0.
- Ashley Timmons and Allison Keizer combined for the shutout.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
- Spring Arbor is the only team in the Crossroads League with a perfect 4-0 mark in league play, and currently sit atop the standings.
- The Cougars picked up their 14th straight victory over the Foresters dating back to the 2006 season. Eleven (11) of those wins have come by shutout.
- Spring Arbor recorded its 11th shutout of the season. The Cougars rank third in the nation in the category while also ranking third in goals allowed per game (0.31).
- Broekhuizen has scored five goals over the last five matches.
- Balcer scored her league-best 17th goal of the season, which also ranks seventh in the NAIA.
