SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Steady rain throughout the evening could not slow down the Spring Arbor University women's soccer team as the No. 2 ranked Cougars defeated Goshen College 5-0 Saturday night at the Cougar Soccer Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Despite the wet conditions, Spring Arbor set the tone early, scoring less than seven minutes into the contest. A corner kick from Renee Broekhuizen found Kaley Buck at the back post, and Buck finished giving the Cougars the lead.
- Bethany Balcer tallied the next two goals. The first came in the 18th minute off a blast from the top of the 18-yard box into the upper corner. Then, in the 32nd minute from almost the same spot, Balcer went to the lower corner this time to put SAU on top 3-0.
- In the second half, Spring Arbor notched two more goals, including the first of the season for Lauren Orr. Morgan Marshall also scored with an assist from Buck.
- The Cougars dominated the night, outshooting Goshen 31-4 and earning 12 corner kicks while the Maple Leafs failed to record one.
- Allison Keizer made four stops in the shutout.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
- The win was the sixth straight for Spring Arbor, and the 15th consecutive victory over Goshen.
- SAU has scored five or more goals four times this season.
- Spring Arbor's 11 shutouts rank first in the Crossroads League and second in the NAIA.
- Balcer has 19 goals this season, which leads the League and ranks fifth in the nation.
- The clean sheet was Keizer's second of the year.
