SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University women's basketball team dropped its Crossroads League opener on Tuesday night, falling to No. 21 University of Saint Francis 73-43 inside the SAU Fieldhouse.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Anne Marie Wright hit back-to-back three-pointers to start the game for Spring Arbor, and a basket from Gracie Cabana cut the Saint Francis lead to 11-8 at the 2:25 mark of the first quarter. However, the visitors closed the period on a 7-2 run to extend their lead to eight.
- Saint Francis flexed its muscle in the second quarter, outscoring SAU 27-3, on the way to earning its third straight win.
FOR THE COUGARS
- Wright had 12 points on three triples to lead all Spring Arbor scorers. Cabana finished with 11 points and three assists. Faith Johnson dished out a team-high five assists to go along with three rebounds and two points.
- Spring Arbor was held to 29 percent (16-for-55) shooting on the night.
FOR SAINT FRANCIS
- Kara Gerka finished with 25 points on 9-for-12 shooting, including going 5-for-7 from behind the arc.
- Saint Francis connected on 53 percent (28-for-53) of its field goal attempts, including 11-for-25 from three-point range.
- Saint Francis forced SAU into 14 turnovers and converted those into 19 points.
