ALMA, Mich. – It did not take long for the Spring Arbor University women's tennis team to shake off the winter rust as the Cougars cruised to a 9-0 win in their spring season opener against Alma College on Wednesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- No. 1 doubles pair Mary-Kate McShane and Monika Wynne rolled to an 8-1 win. The tandem of Barbara Haikal and Emma Joseph posted shutout their opponents 8-0 at No. 2 doubles while Brianna VanRavenswaay and Jewell Allen won by an identical score at No. 3.
- In singles competition, the Cougars overpowered the Scots, winning all six matches – taking five of them in straight sets. After dropping the first set, Wynne battled back to win in three at No. 2 singles.
UP NEXT
Spring Arbor will visit Adrian College on Feb. 18 and Albion College on Feb. 21 before heading south to Hilton Head Island, S.C. for Spring Break on Mar. 3-12.
