CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – A goal from junior Bethany Balcer less than two minutes into the match gave the Spring Arbor University women's soccer team a lead it would never relinquish as the Cougars went on to post an 8-0 win over host Campbellsville University on Tuesday night.
The win served as a bounce-back effort for No. 2 ranked Spring Arbor, which suffered its first loss of the season last Saturday at the hands of then-No. 4 Martin Methodist College.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Spring Arbor jumped all over the Tigers early scoring four goals in the first 20 minutes of action.
- Balcer, the reigning Crossroads League Offensive Player of the Week, opened the scoring in the second minute with a blast from 30 yards out. She would find the back of the net again in the 18th minute with an assist from Sarah Klunder.
- Aubrey Schierbeek also notched a pair of first half goals while Renee Broekhuizen and Morgan Marshall scored one each.
- Broekhuizen picked up her second tally of the night in the 49th minute.
- Abbey Fuller capped the scoring with her fifth goal of the season in the 89th minute.
- Goalkeepers Ashley Timmons, Allison Keizer and Samantha Tracey combined to shutout the Tigers.
- Spring Arbor outshout Campbellsville 23-3 and posted six corner kicks to the Tigers' one.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
- Today's matchup was the first meeting between the two teams.
- The eight goals scored were the second-most in a single game for Spring Arbor this season. The Cougars posted 11 goals against Cincinnati Christian University on Aug. 26.
