SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University men's basketball team drained a season-high 13 three-pointers in an 82-62 win over local rival Albion College on Tuesday night inside the McDonald Athletic Center.
Senior Tom Hamilton continued his red-hot shooting knocking down six shots from behind the arc on his way to a season-high 18 points. Through four games, Hamilton is 16-for-21 from three-point range for a 76.2 shooting percentage.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Spring Arbor started slow, falling behind 12-2 and hitting just one of its first six shots in the first four minutes of the game.
- The Cougars would settle in and erase the deficit with a 21-8 run over the next 10 minutes and never trail again.
- Albion trailed by nine at halftime, and closed the gap to six in the early stages of the second half, but that was as close as the Britons would get. Luke Barber answered with a pair of triples and Paul Marandet added back-to-back buckets to push the SAU lead back to double-digits.
FOR THE COUGARS
- Hamilton added five assists to go along with his game-high 18 points.
- Four other Cougars scored in double figures. Barber had 13 while hitting four three's and Jeff Beckman posted his first double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds with seven assists. Nick Welch and Brandon Durnell both finished with 11 points.
- Spring Arbor shot 51 percent (30-for-59) on the night, including 57 percent (16-for-28) in the second half. The Cougars, who led the country in three-point shooting a season ago, went 13-for-26 from behind the arc.
FOR THE BRITONS
- Albion was led by Caden Ebeling with 14 points and nine rebounds. Jamezell Davis chipped in 12 points.
- The Britons connected on 39 percent (24-for-61) of their field goal attempts and were out-rebounded 40-34.

Spring Arbor hosts the Trent Allen Memorial Tournament on Nov. 1-3. The Cougars will play Rochester College (2-0) on Thursday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. and Ohio Christian University (1-1) on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 2 p.m.
