SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Spring Arbor University will have the opportunity to defend its national title at the final site of the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship after defeating Asbury University 2-0 in the Opening Round on Saturday.
Sisters, Morgan Marshall and Madison Marshall, each recorded a goal to help send the Cougars to Orange Beach for the fifth consecutive season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- For the second straight season, Spring Arbor played host to Asbury in the opening round match.
- The Eagles held the tournament's No. 1 seed scoreless for most of the first half, but the Cougars were able to break the deadlock just before halftime. In the 41st minute, Malorie Henderlong delivered a corner kick to the back post that found Makenzie Selvius, who headed it back in front of the goal for Morgan Marshall to finish it.
- Spring Arbor put the match out of reach with a goal from Madison Marshall in the 77th minute. Kaley Buck got in behind the defense and slipped a cross in to Marshall.
- The Cougars outshot Asbury 23-1, including 14-0 during the second half. SAU also earned 11 corner kicks in the match.
UP NEXT
Spring Arbor returns to Orange Beach, Alabama in search of its third national title in four years. The Cougars will take on No. 18 University of Mobile (11-6-0) in the second round of the tournament on Monday, Nov. 26 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
