MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Spring Arbor University women's basketball team fell to St. Thomas University 69-58 on Tuesday evening.
The Cougars held a one point lead late in the third quarter, but a 12-0 run that spanned the final minute of the third period and first minute of the fourth was the difference, giving the Bobcats a double-digit lead that SAU was unable to overcome.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Spring Arbor battled back from a 10-point deficit in the second quarter. Anne Marie Wright hit a pair of three-pointers in the final minute before halftime and Gracie Cabana buried a triple to start the third, giving SAU a 26-25 lead.
- The two teams went back-and-forth over the next nine minutes before another Cabana three put the Cougars up 40-39 with 1:15 left in the third.
- St. Thomas scored six unanswered points over the last 46 seconds of the third stanza and six more in the first 1:18 of the fourth to grab a 51-40 lead, and the Bobcats would never look back.
FOR THE COUGARS
- Gabby Barnett recorded her first career double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Cabana also finished with 13 points and Wright added 12 on four three-pointers.
- Rachel Nelson and Kristina Grace scored eight points apiece with Nelson also grabbing 10 boards.
- Spring Arbor shot 32 percent (20-for-62) on the night.
- The Cougars out-rebounded the Bobcats 46-40.
FOR THE BOBCATS
- St. Thomas was led by Samara Auguste, who registered 20 points, six rebounds, five assists and five steals.
- The Bobcats hit 44 percent (27-for-61) of their shots.
- The home team did most of its damage down low, outscoring SAU in the paint 38-18.
