UPLAND, Ind. – The Spring Arbor University softball team dropped a pair of Crossroads League games at Taylor University Thursday afternoon. The Trojans posted a 12-1 win in game two and held off a Cougar rally to win game two 9-6.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- Taylor scored in all four innings it batted in. The Trojans led 8-1 after three innings before plating four in the fourth to bring the mercy rule into effect.
- Spring Arbor collected five hits in the game, including a double from Jessica Marwede. Kelsey Brown scored the Cougars' lone run.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- Spring Arbor fell behind 5-0 in game two after a five-run third inning by Taylor.
- The Cougars got on the scoreboard in the fourth following a pair of solo home runs from Jordan Burman and Marwede.
- SAU struck for three more runs in the fifth on RBI singles by Burman and Jade Nowe to tie the score.
- The Trojans would respond, however, hitting a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth to retake the lead before adding two more runs in the sixth to help secure the victory.
- Brown and Burman picked up two hits apiece while Burman added two runs scored and two RBI's.
