GOSHEN, Ind. – The Spring Arbor University softball team dropped game one of Friday's doubleheader at Goshen College 3-1, but bounced back to pick up a 4-2 victory in game two.
The Cougars climbed to fifth in the Crossroads League standings with just two games left in the regular season.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- Spring Arbor jumped on the scoreboard first after three scoreless innings to start the afternoon. Maddison Brock delivered a two-out RBI double to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead.
- Goshen would answer with a run in the bottom of the fourth inning to tie the game, and then push two more runs across in the fifth to take the lead.
- Spring Arbor brought the go-ahead run to the plate in the sixth after back-to-back two-out singles by Brock and Kyla Semones, but was unable to score.
- Kelsey Brown pitched six strong innings allowing just three runs on six hits.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- Spring Arbor got another outstanding effort in the circle in game two from Lauren Heath. After giving up two runs on two hits in the first inning, Heath settled in and did not give up another hit the rest of the way.
- The Cougars were held scoreless through the first three innings, but finally broke through in a big way in the fourth. Hannah VanManen and Brock opened the inning with two straight hits before Jessica Marwede hit a 1-1 offering from GC's Rayna Moraga over the left field fence to put SAU on top.
- Spring Arbor added to its lead in the sixth on an RBI double by Brown.
- The Cougars collected 13 hits in the contest. Hannah Rozeveld was a perfect 3-for-3 while Brock also recorded three hits. Marwede went 2-for-4 with her fourth long ball of the season.
- Heath picked up the win pitching all seven innings giving up just two runs on two hits with two strikeouts.
