- Indiana Wesleyan responded with a run in the bottom of the second, and added another in the third to tie the score.
- The Cougars grabbed the lead again in the sixth inning. A sacrifice fly by Marwede allowed Taylor to cross the plate to put SAU on top 3-2.
- However, the No. 10 ranked Wildcats rallied back one more time, getting a three-run home run in the home half of the sixth.
- Taylor went 2-for-2 with two runs scored to lead the Cougar offense.

- Lauren Heath countered with three scoreless frames to start the game, working her way around a bases loaded jam in the first inning and two SAU errors in the third.
- The Wildcats were finally able to break through, however, in the fourth inning on a solo home run by Emily Hastings. The home team would tack on two more runs in the fifth.
- Brock, Brown, Jordan Burman and Aubrey Herrema picked up hits in the game.
- Heath pitched six innings, holding IWU to three runs on five hits while fanning seven.
