PITTSBURGH – Freshman Lexi Ponstein scored less than three minutes into the match and the No. 1 ranked Spring Arbor University women's soccer team never looked back, exploding for seven goals in a 7-1 win at Point Park University Saturday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Spring Arbor scored five first half goals, including two from Ponstein and two from Bethany Balcer.
- Point Park got on the scoreboard 30 seconds into the second half after capitalizing on a penalty kick opportunity.
- Balcer completed the hat trick with her third goal of the night in the 80th minute, and Kaley Buck capped the scoring less than a minute later.
- Morgan Marshall added one goal and two assists and goalkeeper Allison Keizer finished the night with three saves.
- The Cougars racked up 28 shots while limiting the Pioneers to seven.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Spring Arbor and Point Park have played each other in each of the last five seasons with the Cougars earning the win in all five meetings.
- The hat trick was the first of the season for Balcer and the eighth of her career.

Spring Arbor travels to Lima, Ohio to take on No. 3 University of Northwestern Ohio (0-1-1) on Wednesday, Aug. 29 at 5 p.m. in a rematch of last year's national semifinal matchup. The Cougars defeated the Racers 2-0 in the contest on their way to capturing their second national title.
