Box Score SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Behind goals from Morris Kamara and Cole Russell, the Spring Arbor University men's soccer team knocked off No. 12 Cardinal Stritch University 2-1 on Tuesday night from the Cougar Soccer Complex.
The win improved the Cougars to 5-2-0 on the season while the Wolves suffered their first loss and fell to 4-1-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Spring Arbor had a golden opportunity to take an early lead after Kamara drew a foul inside the box in the 17th minute. However, Cardinal Stritch goalkeeper Pablo Ortiz made a diving save on the ensuing penalty kick to keep SAU off the scoreboard.
- Kamara would eventually find the back of the net though, heading home a cross from Jacob Crull less than 10 minutes later to put the Cougars on top.
- The visiting Wolves found the equalizer before halftime with a goal from Jake Stinton in the 36th minute.
- Goalkeeper Zach Weidman helped keep the Cougars in the game with his outstanding play between the pipes, making several huge stops and finishing the night with a total of 11 saves.
- Russell provided the difference maker in the 58th minute. A long ball from Crull off a counter-attack was misplayed by the CSU goalkeeper's and Russell was there to capitalize on the empty net.

Spring Arbor will wrap up its homestand against Lawrence Tech (3-1-1) on Saturday, Sept. 15. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
