Volleyball drops road match to red-hot Marian

INDIANAPOLIS – The Spring Arbor University volleyball team was dealt a setback within Crossroads League play Wednesday night, falling 3-0 to a red-hot Marian University team.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

  • Marian secured its eighth straight victory with a three-set win Wednesday night and now sits alone in second place in the Crossroads League standings.
  • The high-powered Knights offense boasted a .330 hitting percentage while limiting the Cougars to .127.
  • Sydney Ritz finished with a team-best nine kills and Kasey Follis followed with six. Claudia Ellis and Alison Ford added five kills apiece. Hope Notter collected 17 assists while Annica Stotz ended the match with 11.
  • Two Cougars recorded double-digit digs with Stephaney Fifield picking up 14 and Alyssa Walker collecting 10.

 
 

UP NEXT

Spring Arbor will play its next two matches on the road beginning with a trip to Mount Vernon Nazarene University (7-6, 0-4 CL) on Friday, Sept. 14. The following day, Saturday, Sept. 15, the Cougars will head to Taylor University (5-7, 2-3 CL).
