SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The No. 1 ranked Spring Arbor University women's soccer team capped off the 2018 Homecoming weekend with a dominant 6-0 win over the University of Saint Francis on Saturday at the Cougar Soccer Complex.
Bethany Balcer and Malorie Henderlong scored two goals each in the rout as the Cougars remained unbeaten moving their record to 8-0-1 overall and 2-0-0 in the Crossroads League.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Spring Arbor set the tone right away, scoring less than two minutes into the match. Morgan Marshall slipped a pass through to Bethany Balcer at the top of the 18-yard box, and she would beat the Saint Francis goalkeeper for an early 1-0 lead.
- Malorie Henderlong added two more goals before halftime – the first two goals of her career.
- The Cougars made it 4-0 in the blink of an eye to start the second half. Balcer stole the ball off the opening kickoff and took it the length of the field, beating multiple defenders, for her second tally of the afternoon.
- Alyvia Thorne and Lexi Ponstein would also find the back of the net en route to the victory.
- Spring Arbor outshot Saint Francis 38-1 and earned nine corner kicks compared to zero from USF.
- Emily Ponstein and Allison Keizer combined to record the team's seventh shutout of the season.
