SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University women's soccer team battled Marian University to a 1-1 draw on Saturday evening at the Cougar Soccer Complex in a matchup between two Top 25 ranked sides.
The No. 18 ranked Cougars took the lead in the third minute on Becca Mindling's first career goal, but the No. 21 ranked Knights found the equalizer midway through the second half.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Less than three minutes into the contest, Spring Arbor capitalized on a free kick opportunity as Mindling's shot from 35 yards out ricocheted off the crossbar and into the net.
- The Cougars held the lead until the 68th minute. Marian's Erin Oleksak slipped a pass through the box to the back post and Chloe Ulmer was there to tap it into the open net.
- SAU goalkeeper Samantha Tracey finished the match with a career-high 10 saves, including several game-saving stops in the overtime periods.
- Spring Arbor finished the match with a 20-14 shot advantage.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Spring Arbor is 14-2-2 against Marian since 2006, but has just one win over the Knights in the last four meetings.
- Tracey ranks third in the Crossroads League with a 0.72 goals against average.
