SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Spring Arbor University had 12 players reach the scoring column as the No. 15 ranked Cougars scored a season-high 95 points in a 95-71 victory over Kalamazoo College on Wednesday night inside the McDonald Athletic Center.
Paul Marandet was one of four SAU players to score in double figures, posting a game-high 20 points while dishing out eight assists. Luke Barber finished with 13 points, Tyler Kaminski had a career-high 12 and Jeff Beckman chipped in 10.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Spring Arbor stepped out of Crossroads League play on Wednesday evening to take on NCAA Division III opponent Kalamazoo.
- Beckman and Kaminski led SAU on a 9-2 run to open the game and the Cougars would never give up the lead.
- Spring Arbor took a 12 point lead into halftime, 47-35, before ballooning the margin to as many as 29 points in the second half where the Cougars shot a blistering 73 percent (19-for-26) from the field.
FOR THE COUGARS
- Marandet finished with a game-high 20 points on 6-of-8 shooting and a perfect 7-for-7 at the free throw line. The senior floor general also handed out eight assists.
- Kaminski posted a career-high 12 points going 5-for-5 from the floor, including a pair of three-pointers. Jonathan Robinson had eight points with four assists while freshmen Adam Gottschalk and Nate Flannery registered their first collegiate points.
- Spring Arbor shot a season-high 68 percent (36-for-53) on the night and hit 56 percent (10-for-18) of its shots from behind the arc. The team was also 13-for-15 from the charity stripe.
- The Cougars out-rebounded Kalamazoo 28-21, and dominated down low, outscoring the Hornets 48-24 in the paint.
FOR THE HORNETS
- Tanner Blyly was the leading scorer for Kalamazoo with 14 points while Jeremiah Vincent followed with 12.
- The Hornets made 43 percent (24-for-55) of their shots and were held to 9-for-28 from long range.
UP NEXT
Spring Arbor will head south to Florida for a pair of games against William Jessup University (6-3) and No. 11 Ave Maria University (10-1). The Cougars face William Jessup on Dec. 18 in Lakeland before meeting Ave Maria on Dec. 20 in Naples.
