SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University women's basketball team led wire-to-wire on the way to a 66-55 victory over visiting Madonna University on Thursday night inside the McDonald Athletic Center.
Teona Feldpausch and Grace Shoobridge recorded double-doubles to lead the way for the Cougars, who picked up their fourth consecutive home win. Feldpausch had 14 points and 13 rebounds while Shoobridge finished with 10 points and 12 boards. Gracie Cabana posted a game-high 19 points and Anne Marie Wright added 18.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Spring Arbor started 4-for-4 from the floor on the way to building a 9-0 lead.
- The Cougars led by as many as 13 in the second quarter, but Madonna slowly chipped away at the deficit, and would only trail by six, 27-21, at halftime.
- The visitors closed the gap to three, 33-30, midway through the third quarter with seven unanswered points. Gracie Cabana put an end to the run though with three 3-pointers as part of an 11-0 SAU scoring spurt.
- Spring Arbor maintained a double-digit cushion throughout most of the fourth quarter. The Crusaders got within eight in the final minute, but a bucket by Anne Marie Wright and a defensive stand helped clinch the victory.
FOR THE COUGARS
- Cabana was the leading scorer for Spring Arbor with 19 points while Wright followed with 18.
- Feldpausch notched her sixth double-double of the season – the second-most in the Crossroads League – with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Shoobridge recorded her fourth double-double with 10 points and 12 boards.
- Spring Arbor shot 46 percent (23-for-50) from the field and 79 percent (15-for-19) from the free throw line.
FOR THE CRUSADERS
- Sydney Brown posted 12 points for Madonna while Emily Pendred had 14 rebounds.
- The Crusaders were held to 31 percent (21-for-67) shooting and were just 2-for-12 from 3-point range.
