CLERMONT, Fla. – For the second straight day, the Spring Arbor University softball team split a pair of games. The Cougars defeated Trinity International University 7-2, but were dealt an 8-2 setback by Judson University.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- Spring Arbor tallied two runs in each of the second, third and fourth innings to grab control of the game.
- Already leading 6-1, Abbey Burdgick provided a two-out, RBI double in the seventh to increase the Cougars' lead.
- Jade Nowe was a perfect 3-for-3 with a run scored. Burdgick and Carlee Keim recorded two hits apiece.
- Lauren Wirgau turned in six solid innings in the circle, giving up just one unearned run while scattering eight hits.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- Judson pushed four runs across in the top of the first inning and never looked back.
- Spring Arbor cut the deficit to three, 5-2, with runs in the third and fourth innings, but the Eagles responded with three more unanswered runs to put the game out of reach.
- Cora Millay and Hope Longenbarger went 2-for-3. Both of Longenbarger's hits were doubles.
- Melody Donovan suffered the loss surrendering eight runs in 5.2 innings pitched. Kelsey Sturgeon came on in relief and tossed 1.1 scoreless innings.
UP NEXT
Spring Arbor will enjoy a day off before returning to action on Thursday, Mar. 7. The Cougars will face Cleary University at 11:30 a.m. followed by Cardinal Stritch University at 4 p.m.
