MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – The Spring Arbor University softball team dropped a pair of games at Mount Vernon Nazarene University on Wednesday afternoon. A five-run sixth inning by MVNU sank the Cougars in game one, 6-3, before suffering an 18-2 setback in game two.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- RBI hits by Amber Beal in the second and third innings gave Spring Arbor a 2-1 lead after three innings. Beal singled to center in the second, bringing in Jade Nowe, and delivered a clutch, two-out double in the third to score Hope Longenbarger.
- The Cougars led 3-1 entering the bottom of the sixth, but, after being shut down the first five innings, MVNU erupted for five runs on five hits to steal game one.
- Beal was 2-for-4 with two RBI's while Cora Millay also picked up two hits. Kyla Semones also had a hit and an RBI.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- Mount Vernon Nazarene put game two out of reach early. The home team tallied four runs in the bottom of the first inning, two in the second, four more in the third and eight in the fourth.
- Sarah Matlock went 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and a run scored. Millay recorded two more hits and scored.
