UPLAND, Ind. – A tightly contested Crossroads League opener for No. 13 Spring Arbor University resulted in a 2-2 draw with Taylor University on Wednesday night.
The Cougars twice took one-goal leads only to see the home team fight its way back, including a strike by the Trojans in the 74th minute to even the score.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A goal from Kaley Buck in the 35th minute put Spring Arbor on top after 45 minutes of play.
- Taylor tied the game in the early stages of the second half on a long shot by Linli Tu, but SAU answered 10 minutes later when Mackenzie Selvius found the back of the net.
- However, the Trojans would battle their way back again, finding an equalizer in the 74th minute.
- Spring Arbor finished the match with 18 shots while Taylor registered 15. The Trojans held a slight 7-6 advantage in corner kicks.
- SAU goalkeeper Samantha Tracey made three saves.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Spring Arbor owns a 19-0-1 record against Taylor over the last 20 meetings.
- Selvius scored for the fourth straight match, and now has a team-high six goals on the season.
