FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 13 ranked Spring Arbor University women's soccer team wrapped up its five-match road swing on Saturday with a 1-0 victory over the University of Saint Francis.
Junior Alyvia Thorne provided the game-winner in the 52nd minute as the Cougars moved to 5-3-2 overall and 1-0-1 in the Crossroads League. Saint Francis suffered its fifth consecutive loss and fell to 2-7-2 and 0-2-0 in league play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Spring Arbor outshot Saint Francis 12-0 in the first half, but 11 saves from the USF goalkeeper kept the Cougars off the scoreboard.
- SAU was able to breakthrough in the early stages of the second half. The home team failed to clear a cross from Kaley Buck and the loose ball eventually found the foot of Thorne, who blasted a low shot past the diving keeper.
- Spring Arbor finished the night outshooting Saint Francis 28-0 and held a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Spring Arbor picked up its 13th consecutive victory over Saint Francis dating back to the 2008 season.
- It was the second time in the last three seasons that SAU has held Saint Francis without a shot. In 2017, the Cougars outshot USF 18-0 in a 5-0 victory.
