ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University competitive cheer and dance teams competed for the first time in program history on Friday night, taking part in the Concordia University Cardinal Invite.
The Spring Arbor cheer team finished fourth out of four teams. The Cougars posted a score of 56.3 before a five point deduction brought the total to a 51.3. The SAU dance team also placed fourth in the four-team field with a final score of 24.5.
Concordia, the defending national champions, finished first in the cheer competition with a score of 81.28. Aquinas earned the dance team title with a score of 67.5.
Spring Arbor travels to Siena Heights University for the Halo Classic on Saturday, Jan. 25.
