SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The No. 15 ranked Spring Arbor University men's basketball team fell to No. 2 ranked Indiana Wesleyan University 93-68 on Saturday afternoon the McDonald Athletic Center.
Junior Brandon Durnell eclipsed the 1,000 career point mark in the contest, becoming the 47th player in program history to reach the milestone. Durnell entered the game 10 points shy of 1,000, and finished with a team-high 22 points going 6-of-10 from the field and 8-of-12 from the free throw line.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Indiana Wesleyan got off to a red-hot start and never looked back. The Wildcats made nine of their first 11 shots, including four 3-pointers, to build an early double digit lead.
- Kyle Mangas was the catalyst for the visitors. The reigning Crossroads League and NAIA Player of the Week scored 26 points on 10-of-13 shooting through the first 20 minutes, helping IWU take a 54-34 lead into halftime.
- Spring Arbor played a strong second half behind 15 points from Durnell in the period, but the early deficit was too much to overcome.
FOR THE COUGARS
- All 13 Spring Arbor players found the floor in the contest. Durnell posted a team-high 22 points off the bench. The junior forward from Fort Wayne, Indiana also finished with four rebounds, three steals and one block.
- Tyler Kaminski finished with nine points while Luke Barber and Jeff Beckman added eight apiece. Paul Marandet chipped in five points and handed out seven assists.
- Spring Arbor shot 51 percent (26-for-51) overall from the field and 43 percent (6-for-14) from 3-point range.
FOR THE WILDCATS
- Mangas poured in 35 points to lead Indiana Wesleyan to its sixth straight victory.
- Three other Wildcats reached double figures. Tanner Rubio finished with 15 points, Noah Smith had 14 and Seth Maxwell had 12.
- Indiana Wesleyan shot 61 percent (22-for-36) in the first half and 54 percent (36-for-67) for the game.
