UPLAND, Ind. – The Spring Arbor University women's basketball team gave the nation's No. 5 ranked team all they could handle for three quarters on Saturday, but the Cougars came up short falling to unbeaten Taylor University 75-65.
Grace Shoobridge notched her sixth double-double of the season with a career-high 22 points and 10 rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Spring Arbor made its first four shots from the field to grab an early 10-5 lead.
- A barrage of three's from the country's top 3-point shooting team fueled an 11-0 run, but the Cougars weathered the storm and only trailed by three after the first quarter.
- SAU held its own against the No. 5 ranked Trojans in the second quarter with the lead changing hands four times. A pair of last second free throws put Taylor up 37-34 at halftime.
- Spring Arbor stayed within striking distance for most of the third quarter, but a quick 9-0 scoring spurt over a two-minute span late in the period gave Taylor a double-digit cushion.
- The Cougars kept the pressure on, and closed the gap to nine, 70-61, with 2:34 to play, but a clutch 3-pointer from Becca Buchs – her fifth triple of the game – would put the game out of reach.
FOR THE COUGARS
- Shoobridge was 11-for-17 from the floor on her way to a career-high 22 points.
- Anne Marie Wright finished with 13 points. Wright continues to close in on a pair of milestones. The junior from Eaton Rapids is now 13 points away from 1,000 for her career, as well as 11 3-pointers away from breaking the program's all-time career mark.
- Teona Feldpausch also scored 13 points while adding seven rebounds, five assists and four steals. Gracie Cabana tallied 12 points and three assists.
- Spring Arbor shot 47 percent (27-for-57) from the field. The Cougars also shot 33 percent (9-for-27) from 3-point range.
FOR THE TROJANS
- Becca Buchs and Abby Buchs led the way for Taylor with 19 points apiece.
- Taylor shot 50 percent (27-for-54) on the afternoon and made 13 triples.
