SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – A red-hot Taylor University could not be contained as the No. 9 ranked Trojans defeated the Spring Arbor University women's basketball team 78-39 on Saturday inside the McDonald Athletic Center.
The win was the 16th straight for the Trojans, who are one of only two NAIA DII squads without a loss yet this season. The setback dropped the Cougars to 6-9 overall and 1-3 in the Crossroads League.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Spring Arbor came out strong against the undefeated Trojans, outscoring them 14-11 in the first quarter. The Cougars were 6-for-13 from the field in the period with a pair of 3-pointers and limited the visitors to just 4-for-15.
- Taylor took control of the game over the next two quarters. The nation's best 3-point shooting team made seven triples over the second and third quarters on their way to building an insurmountable lead.
FOR THE COUGARS
- Teona Feldpausch finished with a team-high 14 points. Gracie Cabana followed with seven while Anne Marie Wright and Cierra Lipps scored five points apiece.
- Grace Shoobridge hauled in a game-high nine rebounds.
FOR THE TROJANS
- Taylor made 13 three-pointers on the afternoon. Abby Buchs and Becca Buchs led the way with 18 and 17 points, respectively.

Spring Arbor will face a second straight top-10 ranked opponent when No. 5 Marian University (14-2, 3-1 CL) visits the McDonald Athletic Center on Wednesday, Jan. 8. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
