SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University men's soccer team played Indiana Wesleyan University to a 1-1 draw on Thursday night at the Cougar Soccer Complex.
Cole Russell put Spring Arbor on top in the opening moments of the match, but the Wildcats scored on a penalty kick in the second half, and after 110 minutes the score remained even.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
- Spring Arbor jumped on Indiana Wesleyan early. A cross from Michael Procopio found its mark and Russell's header found its way past the IWU goalkeeper to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead less than four minutes into the game.
- The Cougars caught a bad break in the early stages of the second half when an SAU defender deflected a shot in the box, but was whistled for a handball. Indiana Wesleyan's Zack Hargreaves put away the ensuing penalty kick to level the score.
- Spring Arbor created a few dangerous chances in the closing minutes of regulation and overtime, but IWU's goalkeeper made three great saves to preserve the tie.
- Both teams recorded 16 shots in the match.
- SAU goalkeeper Christopher Banfi finished with four saves.
