MISHAWAKA, Ind. – A late fourth quarter run was the difference in the Spring Arbor University women's basketball team's 77-69 defeat at the hands of Bethel University on Wednesday night.
Spring Arbor led by two, 61-59, with 4:45 to play, but an 8-0 run put Bethel in the driver's seat. The Cougars got within five in the final minute, but the Pilots were perfect from the free throw line down the stretch to secure their first Crossroads League win.
Teona Feldpausch matched her career-high with 22 points and grabbed six rebounds and Grace Shoobridge finished with 17 points and six boards.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Spring Arbor led throughout most of the first half and took a 33-29 lead into halftime.
- The two teams exchanged the lead four times in the third quarter, but a late 3-pointer by Cierra Lipps and a layup in the final minute from Shoobridge put the Cougars in front 53-50 heading into the fourth quarter.
- Spring Arbor increased its lead to seven in the first two minutes of the period, but Bethel responded with a 15-2 run to pull ahead by six, 61-61, with 3:06 remaining.
- A 3-pointer from by Anne Marie Wright closed the gap to five, 71-66, at the 1:21 mark, but Bethel dashed any hopes of a comeback by going a perfect 4-for-4 from the charity stripe in the final seconds.
FOR THE COUGARS
- Feldpausch scored a game-high 22 points, which also matched her career-high, while also hauling in six rebounds. Shoobridge went 7-for-9 from the field and 3-for-4 from the free throw line on her way to 17 points.
- Lipps posted 13 points, three assists and three steals while Grace Cotter recorded four steals, three assists and two points.
- Wright had 12 points and made two 3-pointers, putting her one triple away from tying the program's record for 3-pointers made in a career at 218.
- Spring Arbor shot 37 percent (24-for-64) on the night and was held to 6-for-27 from 3-point range.
FOR THE PILOTS
- Bethel was led by 19 points and nine rebounds from Savannah Feenstra.
- The Pilots made 45 percent (25-for-55) of their shots, but were 20-for-23 from the free throw line.
