LAKE WALES, Fla. – The Spring Arbor University baseball team opened its Florida Spring Break trip with a 16-6 loss against the Warner University Royals on Wednesday night. The game was the first of six that the Cougars will play in the Sunshine State, which will include three more games against the Royals.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Warner jumped out to an early 10-0 lead in the first inning behind home runs from John Pichman and Logan Flood.
- In the top of the second inning, freshman Landon Raczkowski hit a two-run home run in his first collegiate at-bat.
- Spring Arbor would go on to score the next three runs, thanks to RBI's from Brant Mast, Ben Redfield and Drew Anstead. The score was 10-5 after the top of the sixth.
- Cade Kontny, who replaced Hunter Nielsen on the mound early in the game, tossed five strong innings, striking out three batters and keeping the Cougars in the game.
- The Royals poured it on and went on to score the six of the last seven runs.
- Freshman Jackson Kitchen hit a bunt single in the seventh inning to tally his first hit at the college level. SAU got its last run from a wild pitch after Kitchen scored from third.
- Freshman Ryan Gillesby made his collegiate debut on the mound in the seventh inning. Warner's Daniel Coca ended the game in the seventh with an RBI double, as the 10-run rule went into effect.
